Morocco’s Very Own Sundance Kid

I happened to snap this shot whilst wobbling gracelessly atop a camel in Essaouira. A friend of mine who was riding on a camel walking in front dropped her slipper because of the “camel turbulence”. Chaos ensued when the man guiding the camels tried to turn us around to retrieve it. Just as all this was happening, the rider in the photo went galloping past on his horse, so I frantically snapped away in the hope I would catch him in full flight.

It makes me wonder, is there a Moroccan equivalent of a cowboy?
